I have more time today!

I shall review The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Skin Clearing Face Wash and Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner today~

I have been putting this review off since God knows when, so I shall finally get down to it today ._.

Unfortunately, I have finished off all the contents so you’ll have to satisfy yourselves with a not-so-personalised web image from The Body Shop 🙁

I’ll add my own pictures when I repurchase hahaha!

(that statement should tell you how great this product is)

The facial wash is very mild, non-soapy, so you may feel that you don’t get the ‘squeaky-clean’ feeling from this cleanser if you have very oily skin. What I usually do is wash my face with some other cleanser (any one is fine, just make sure you get all the dirt out) then continue with this facial wash and make sure it reaches every inch of your face (don’t forget the chin!) and rub thoroughly (and gently).

After washing off, you’ll have a super refreshed skin and your skin will feel fresh and tingly! Some people say that it stings, but I have no issues with the cleanser. It’s only the toner that may sting. I think that’s part of its job anyway- if it stings, it means its doing its job and killing off all the pimple bacteria!

Now on to the toner. You know most toners now are touting the wonderful properties of salicylic acid and what it does etc etc.? (like my E.L.F zit zapper)

Well, the toner contains naturally-occuring salicylic acid in the willow bark extract this toner has (you have to shake the container as the willow bark will settle at the bottom, it’s a whitish layer). You can’t really see this in the picture above but pop in to any The Body Shop store, you can see it for yourself.

But I digress. Anyway, the weird thing about this toner is that it heats up then cools after application, so you get a warm feeling on your face and you get such pretty red cheeks 🙂 I think it’s waaaay cool! Your skin will tingle a bit. Of course if you lather this toner on directly it will feel like you have first-degree burns or something, that’s why you should follow the instructions on the bottle and use a piece of cotton wool and cloth. I was naughty and just slapped it on directly the first time- and my face felt like it was on fire for the first five seconds! I do that still in the morning when I really need a little waking up, but DO NOT FOLLOW ME if you have sensitive skin.

Anyway, after I started using this range my blackheads have subsided and my pimples subside quicker. You may feel that your pimples look reddish after using the toner, but they will disappear almost overnight! I think there is sodium lauryl sulfate in this though, which makes me a trifle uneasy- you know how people say putting toothpaste on zits will make them better and how your face burns and yet feels cool to the touch? This toner is exactly like it, so I’m wondering if that is the work of sodium lauryl sulfate ._. Hmmmm.

I like how your face feels matt after applying the toner ^^

Loves: Heating feeling, cooling feeling

Hates: Only small issues, like how the bottle is quite big >< so you’ll have to take a chance and go for it!

Rating: 8.5/10

Would I purchase it again?: Yes, I will 🙂

Pricing: 20.90 SGD

Try Also: Tea Tree Oil, 18.90SGD to effectively target zits! (award-winning)

Hey guys!

As promised, the Lip Ice Sheer Colour Lip Balm review!

I purchased the variation with no strawberry scent or shimmer, so I can wear it to school undetected 😛

This is my must-have base lippie, under my Burt’s Bees Lip Balm (see review, HERE)

As you can see, the balm is sheer/colourless, but turns pink immediately upon application (I’m not sure how that works).

It’s super cool and there must be some long explanation on how it works, like the balm being exposed to the air and whatnot, (I’m a lousy Chemistry student), since the tip of the balm sometimes turns pink after application and that annoys me, ‘cos it doesn’t look clean and pretty.

But that’s just a small issue.

It provides such a natural pink tint, that stays on long and even after it fades, it gives

your lips such a wonderful pretty pink that looks natural.

If you think the colour looks too glaring on your lips, apply a coat over and wipe it off

immediately- a hint of colour will remain and you will have totally natural-looking lips

🙂 If I keep harping about this, it’s because they are waaaay KISSABLE!

The colour differs according to your own lip colour, so this colour may not be the same

for everyone. I think it looks wonderful on mine, if I may be so bold.

before

after

(I photoshopped away my cheek zits to the best of my ability,

so I won’t hurt your eyes. Didn’t touch anywhere else though)

On some days, my lips are already quite red (no idea why) so putting on this balm gives it an even deeper red which is pretty inappropriate for school *teehee*

My friend has this balm too, and she says it makes her lips pinker (she has very dark lips, like brown-y because she’s a coffee addict) but I can’t back up that claim.

I know that there are lip and nipple (lol) balm stains out there that claim to restore your lips and nipples to their natural baby pink colour, but I haven’t bought any of them, because I like my lip colour, thankyouverymuch; and I can’t say that this balm does the same, but who knows?

I think all it does it makes it darker ._.

But that’s for you to find out 🙂 Give it a try! It’s a bit more expensive than normal lip balms, but it doubles as a lipstick (if you want a darker colour, put on a few more coats)

I don’t use it much as a mosturising balm because I just add my Burt’s Bees balm over it 🙂 it mosturises pretty well, though, but if you are looking for something for really chapped lips, I would suggest you work on the dry problem before using this.

I love how they made it at an angle so it makes for easy application, like a lipstick, instead of the flat thing they do for most lip balms.

It twists up and down super smoothly, and the cap is long, so there is no issue of the cap coming off in your bag, which really put me off Maybelline lip balms, no matter how much I adored the scent of the cherry ones.

Note:

Maybelline has released a series of lip balms called Pink Glow that work the same way as Lip Ice’s Sheer Colour lip balm. Two colours, if I’m not wrong- Baby Pink and Pink Blast.

They work EXACTLY the same way, but I’ll be sticking with Lip Ice because Maybelline’s balms tend to give me a heavy, oily feel which I hate on my lips, especially if I’ll be eating/ studying/ whatever.

Baby Pink and Pink Blast (in order)

Loves: The colour! The cute design! The convenient application!

Hates: Nothing at all

Rating: 9.5/10 (tied with Burt’s Bees lip balm)

Would I buy this again?: ABSOLUTELY! What’s not to love?

Pricing: Around 7 SGD, but I purchased it in Brunei for about 5.90 SGD. I haven’t seen it being sold online, though ._.

Hi guys!

All ready for Chinese New Year?

If not, get into the mood with this gorgeous red nail polish from The Face Shop!

(Lovely ME:EX3 Paint Nails RD301)

I got it in the Xmas gift sets on sale for $14.90, with another nail polish and the Mini Pet Hand Cream, which is my ultimate favourite hand cream now! (I even use it when my hair gets too dry sometimes because it is a hassle to bring leave-on hair conditioner)

I’ll review it some other time. I actually have an extra pot of Mini Pet hand cream that I’m putting up for sale (see my ‘for sale’ link on the Nav Bar)

I noticed The Face Shop outlets have not been stocking much of them nowadays… Hopefully they don’t discontinue them ;-;

Check out all the colours  here. I’ve provided links to the two colours too, just click on them ^^

Anyway, I really like the feel of these nail polishes, quick to dry, and goes on smoothly. Of course, slower hands might result in a goey texture (like dough) so make sure each coat goes on- fast!

I like to apply a thin layer first over a base coat (it still looks really great even if you’re not bothering to apply a base coat) so my clumsy skills don’t let it trickle over the sides.

The colour is really solid through, not like those lousy nail polishes that need thousands of coats to look solid. Of course I’m exaggerating. But you know what I mean. I love Liole, but they are so watery I can’t be bothered to wait for each layer to dry.

(look at my failed quick attempt)

To be fair, I took like 5 seconds on each nail, just for a demo. I’m not THAT sloppy when I do my nails.

The colour is just plain gorgeous :3

I know some of you might think- ‘ick, that colour is for old ladies and power career women’, but give it a try!

I’ve been sticking to boring colours like biege and pink for god knows how long, then my friend shocked me up by buying this dark blue nail polish from O.P.I because she told me she was tired of watching me put on nail polish that didn’t look like I put on nail polish (God bless her). And guess what?

I loved it.

And I am way more adventurous now, so when I saw the gift set I thought, ‘Well, why not?’

If you are still a bit wary of bright colours, this muted purple will suit you well. It’s still feminine and girly, but not too boring or plain.

(Lovely ME:EX3 Paint Nails PP401)

I just loooooooove the texture.

Pretty yeah? This is so going on my toes!

Tell me what you think 🙂

I think I’ll get the Nail Dot Pen next!

******************************************************************************

Loves: Texture, colour… almost everything!

Hates: It gets gooey after awhile and sometimes it leaks to the sides, so I put two thin layers. Nothing much to complain about.

 Rating: 9/10

Would I buy it again?: Yep, I love this range! But I won’t buy the exact same colours (duh)

Pricing: Not too sure, but I saw it on offer once, 3 for 10SGD

Hey guys!
I have some time today, so here’s another update!

Burts Bees Beeswax Lip Balm~

Okay, this is not really very well known in Singapore because the brand’s products are 100% natural and expensive. I usually get them from shops selling organic products. ‘Beauté Spring’ stocks them, too. Do not mix this shop up with ‘Beauty Language’. ‘Beauté Spring’ sells more obscure, overseas brands at cheap prices. More about that next time.

Anyway, this lip balm leaves you with a cooling, minty feeling on your lips from the peppermint (exactly like Lipice, but more matt and not as oily). It is a must have for me because I stay in air-conditioned lecture halls the whole day! I love the fact that it doesn’t feel oily and sinks in well, and keeps it mosturised way longer than any other lip balms I have!!

The ingredients are 100% natural:
Beeswax, (coconut, peppermint, sunflower, canola and soybean) oils, rosemary extract.
Even the container is made from recycled plastics!
I’m not saying you have to save the Earth or whatever, but you must admit that it is an added bonus to do good while looking good ^^

If you don’t believe its wonderful properties, Google it. Many Americans are HUGE fans of this lip balm and can’t go without it over their Dior lipstick or whatever. It is their top product. 😀
I haven’t used my Lipice balm since my mum introduced this to me!

I’ll review this brand’s shampoos and cleansers another time. I’m a major fan of their Baby Bee Buttermilk Soap Bar! There used to be one in pink- with rose or whatever but it was discontinued 🙁

************************************************************************************************

Loves: Mosturises, does its job well, better than any other lip balms out there
Hates: None!
Rating: 9.5/10 , my highest rating ever, so you know that this is no joke 🙂

This is my second tube of balm. And I will still buy it again!
If you don’t want a clear balm, they have tinted balms too! Like Beetroot and stuff 😮 Quirky!

Hey guys!

Today, I’ll be telling you one of my beauty secrets :3

Oooh, a secret!

Okay, okay, I’ll tell you now.

Let me tell you what I do whenever I get really bad breakouts. I don’t use skincare products during really bad breakouts except cleanser once in the morning and at night, like mosturisers and whatnot. Instead, I turn to natural methods to get rid of the acne!

To get rid of the dirty bacteria:

I use green bean powder, mixed in water, and apply it like a mask. I bought mine from an organic health food store which has barley and rice bits mixed in for added whitening properties that doubles as a scrub.

It is located near Bukit Batok MRT and goes by the name of ‘Vitality’. My mum bought this for me though, so I’m not sure of the exact location. You should be able to buy it in supermarkets though, as it is used in cooking. You don’t actually need the mixed version. The powder I used last time was purchased from NTUC.

DO NOT BUY ‘GREEN BEAN FLOUR’. It looks very similar. If you don’t see any green bean powder, it goes by an alternative name- mung bean powder, which is the same thing. It should look something like this.

I usually use lukewarm water because I’ve heard the effect is better (opening pores and all) but some people use cold water to reduce the inflammation and redness. If you really want to do that, I suggest you wrap ice in a thin towel and hold it to the inflamed areas (the towel is to prevent you from getting frostbite) after washing off the green bean mask.

This can double as a face scrub due to its texture or you can leave it on as a mask. It will harden and make your face feel tight. You can choose to either peel it off or wash it off.

Anyway, pour a bit of powder onto a small dish and add a bit of water. You should not get a watery mixture. It should look like a thick liquid (I will upload pictures soon)

If you peel it off you get the added bonus of getting rid of dead skin and blackheads on your nose (make sure you apply a suitably thick layer so you can peel it off).

However, if you have dry skin, or a really bad case of acne, it would be better to just wash it off to avoid damaging your skin. I would suggest using warm/lukewarm water to wash off this mask as it clings on well. Too well for my liking when I am in a hurry sometimes ._.

DO NOT USE YOUR NAILS TO TRY AND GET IT OFF!

Pat dry after washing your face and if you like, you can apply your preferred mosturiser or follow up with a honey and sugar mask! (I will write about this next time)

Loves: Reduces pores, blackheads, inflammation and swelling, removes dry skin and firms your face. Leaves face feeling smooth and soft

Hates: Hard to wash off at times

Rating: 9/10
