It’s been a really tumultuous time and I have been so bogged down with work lately and falling ill on and off with the erratic weather, I have been meaning to review the new Eyelighter Glowy OLENS range but just didn’t have the time to do so!!
I’m sure you’ve been seeing lots of ads going around with their new range and let me tell you- it is so beautiful! All of the shades are really beautiful in their own way and I can already see myself wearing them out with different looks.
Every single colour I have tried from this range is so beautiful and wearable, they are definitely great everyday contacts. Brown and Black are of course classic styles that are really natural and if you didn’t look into my eyes up close, you would possibly miss it! It just adds a little something something and makes your eyes look glowy and bright!

These contacts are quite similar to OLENS Cherry Moon Brown/ Gray, with very similar material, water content, and graphic diameter/ style. However, these contacts are slightly darker in shade and are excellent for people with dark brown eyes and are not comfortable with bright/ significantly different colours.
This range boasts a realistic highlight effect and deep edge line make your eyes look more multi-dimensional. Multiple shades are blended in for a soft shading and highlight, to fake the light catching your eyes even without direct light! As with all other OLENS contact lenses, they are very natural, very beautiful, and super comfortable to wear.
- Doesn’t dry out my eyes even after a full day’s wear under air-conditioning. I’ve shopped at other brands like TTDEYE or Pinky Paradise, and Olens is by far the most comfortable.

- Very handy search and recommendation options on the site. I usually prefer searching by bestsellers to see if there are any new designs or deals I have missed out on, but there is a handy #FindMyOlens tab that lets you compare numerous styles with customer images. Which brings us to the next point-
- Lots of customer reviews and real-life photos to check before purchasing, so low risk of the style looking totally unlike what the promotional pictures show. I can’t stress this enough!! This is what I always look out for when I buy a new style, especially if I’m going to be buying several pairs.
Eyelighter Glowy Black
This black contacts are half black, half brown in shading. The graphic diameter is not very huge, which makes it look quite natural, and the soft outer limbal ring gives a very subtle enlarging effect without looking too ‘dolly’ or unnnatural. It covers my dark brown eyes perfectly!
I think if you want a natural look that is appropriate for the workplace, this contact would be an excellent choice. Many natural everyday contacts tend to be brown, which is a lovely choice but perhaps may not suit everyone’s preferences.
I think it looks more ‘serious’, but gives you a very fresh and rejuvenated feeling lol. Like you got a full night’s sleep even though in reality you are dying at work at 8am in the morning 🤣
The colour mimics the subtle differences in your natural eye colour and really helps with highlighting the natural eye highlights. The patterns and colour differences help the contacts blend in with your natural eyes a bit more too, and it looks really seamless!
Eyelighter Glowy Brown
I think this brown contact lens is one of my favourite brown lenses, along with Russian Smoky Brown and Vivi Ring Brown! These browns are my favourites because they solved a lot of the problems I had with many brown contact lenses. 😰
A lot of brown contact lenses have mixed in yellow, orange, or reddish shades, and when added on top of my natural brown eyes, sometimes look a bit orange under certain lighting. I’m sure it would look nice on perhaps blue or green eyes, but when added to brown eyes, you can see this effect under bright light.
So how does this Eyelighter Glowy Brown do compared to the other two browns I love?
Russian Smoky Brown is more ashy-brown, with a very soft colour. It is definitely the least ‘natural’ in the sense that people will notice it instantly! This light brown shade entirely covers dark brown eyes. The realistic iris pattern lines in the lens design helps it blend in very naturally with my dark eyes. There is no limbal ring effect from your natural eye colour underneath the lenses due to the wider diameter on the Russian Smoky lenses, just like the Russian Velvet range.
Vivi Ring Brown and Eyelighter Glowy Brown are more subtle and work in different ways.
Vivi Ring Brown is a very soft shade of brown, with warmer tones than the Russian Smoky Brown. It is lighter under bright light, without looking too orange or reddish. If you would like a younger everyday look, this is the contacts for you!
This contacts has a soft, powdery limbal ring effect that seamlessly blends into your natural eyes. The colouration seems more obvious under bright light, but it looks almost identical to my normal eye colour indoors.
You can really see the highlighting effect of Eyelighter Glowy Brown when placed next to the other two brown contact lenses. It looks like a really upgraded and premium version (love how they keep coming up with even better and better designs!), and the lighting is so beautiful in all the photos. It’s like an extra twinkle in your eye!
Personally, I prefer the brown over the black on my eyes, I think it helps me look young and is so nice for romantic looks! It is quite hard to tell the difference in person, but I find myself reaching for the brown shade a little more.
I would recommend both shades for people who want to have natural-looking and bright eyes. I think you will need to try them out yourself to really decide which is your favourite!
Eyelighter Glowy Ash Gray
I don’t quite know how to describe this unique shade of grey- it is quite unlike any of the greys I have purchased from Olens previously! It is definitely one of the darker greys I own, and it is a lot more natural with super soft edges. This helps to accentuate the lighter colour a little more without it looking unnatural on dark eyes.
I prefer this over many lighter greys I own, such as the Scandi Light Gray. This has a soft edge blending to make it super natural, and the colour blends in with my natural colour more seamlessly. The issue I had previously with the Scandi Light Gray was that it contrasted quite a bit with my natural eye colour, so even the slightest shift in the lens would reveal my natural colour.
Look at the difference! It looks so soft and natural, but the difference in colour of the grey really gives you that ~exotic~ look lol. With this grey, it also does not stand out as much compared to the Russian Velvet Gray or the Russian Smoky Gray for example, and it is a more wearable shade for daily wear. Look at that little subtle highlight! Love it!!

Overall, I think OLens have really outdone themselves with this range and all the shades really mimic how these eye highlights colours would look like naturally. You can see the difference when you compare them side by side to the previous ranges! I thought the previous lenses were amazing, but the highlights on this range is *chef’s kiss*
